FanDuel Sportsbook has released its annual college football win totals for the 2024 season. The Gophers’ over/under is set at 4.5. The over is favored at -152 odds and the under comes back at +124. The implied probability would give Minnesota a 60.32% chance of going over 4.5 wins for the season.

  • Week 2: vs. Rhode Island (FCS)
  • Week 3: vs. Nevada
  • Week: 4: vs. Iowa
  • Week 5: @ Michigan
  • Week 6: vs. USC
  • Week 7: @ UCLA
  • Week 8: BYE
  • Week 9: vs. Maryland
  • Week 10: @ Illinois
  • Week 11: @ Rutgers
  • Week 12: vs. Penn State
  • Week 13: @ Wisconsin

Expectations

With the new Big Ten conference coming into full effect next season, Minnesota’s path to eight or nine win seasons will only get tougher. It is still relatively early in the offseason, with another transfer portal window yet to open, but I would guess that the Gophers would be favored in four or maybe five games today if hypothetical betting lines were made. For that reason, the low in total of 4.5 should not come as too much of a surprise.

With a brand new quarterback, and defensive coordinator I think all this should show is where the expectations should be set for Gophers football in 2024. This team had a lot of question marks last season and you could make the argument that they’ve only added more heading into next season. With four homes games to open the season, there is certainly some potential to surprise people, but don’t be shocked if the general public is down on the Maroon & Gold heading into the season.

Rest of Big Ten

  • Ohio State: 10.5
  • Oregon: 10.5
  • Penn State: 9.5
  • Michigan: 9.5
  • USC: 7.5
  • Washington: 7.5
  • Nebraska: 7.5
  • Iowa: 7.5
  • Maryland: 7.5
  • Wisconsin: 6.5
  • UCLA: 5.5
  • Illinois: 5.5
  • Indiana: 5.5
  • Michigan State: 5.5
  • Northwestern: 5.5
  • Minnesota: 4.5
  • Purdue: 4.5

The Gophers are tied with Purdue for the lowest win total in the entire conference. There have been a lot of moving parts for the Gophers program this offseason and the betting markets are not buying into the changes that they have made.
