Your Minnesota Gophers will be playing hockey not too far from Dinkytown next weekend in their NCAA Tournament regional located in Sioux Falls, S.D.

The Gophers were granted not just a favorable rink to skate at, en route to a possible third straight Frozen Four appearance in their backyard of St. Paul, but they also had a pretty favorable draw as well. Top-seeded Boston University will have to travel a long distance and Omaha, even though they recently defeated No. 5 North Dakota and are on a slight hot streak, they are a preferred matchup compared to Michigan or Quinnipiac. Minnesota is the only team from the state of 10,000 lakes in the tournament this season with regulars such as St. Cloud State and Minnesota State-Mankato nowhere to be found.
